Hands of Hope
Hands of Hope is an outreach ministry of the La Grange Church of Christ with the purpose of encouraging one another to follow God’s command for us to serve others with love. 1 Peter 4:10 (NIV) states “Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.” We want to use the hands God gave us to spread His message of hope.
The purpose of the first project taken on by the Hands of Hope ministry is to help God’s most vulnerable souls; children. The ministry will help meet the needs of children who are in danger of hunger, as identified by La Grange ISD. These children are provided with meals during the school week through the school-associated free or reduced lunch program. Hands of Hope strives to bridge the hunger gap these children face while away from school. Each Friday, identified students are given a food pack containing 7 meals and 2 snacks; enough food for the weekend. By helping meet this physical need, we pray each child is filled with a measure of hope.
